2nd Innings:
Trailing by 326 runs, England had a terrible start as they lost the wicket of Rory Burns for just four runs and after 3 overs lost the wicket of Dominic Sibley for 8 runs and in a couple of over the top all-rounder Ben Stokes got out for a duck. England was 12 runs for 3 wickets and looked in deep trouble. Root and Ollie Pope batted well, adding 50 runs to the 4th wicket, but Root got out after scoring 14 runs. Ollie Pope batted well, scoring 62 runs, and he also got help from Jos Butler, who scored 38 runs.
Chris Woakes 19 runs, and in the end, Stuart Broad 29 runs helped England score 219 runs, and Pakistan got a lead of 107 runs. Yasir Shah was brilliant with the ball, picking up four wickets. 3rd Innings:
With a lead of 107 runs, Pakistan had a bad start as they lost the wicket of centurion Shan Masood for a duck. Abid Ali 20 runs and Azhar Ali 18 runs batted well for a while, but they too got out, and Babar Azam also fell cheaply for just 5 runs. Asad Shafiq 29 runs, and Mohammad Rizwan 27 runs added 38 runs to the 5th wicket.
The highest scorer of the innings was Yasir Shah with 33 runs, which helped Pakistan post a total of 169 runs, thus taking the lead to 276 runs. Stuart Broad was once again brilliant with the ball as he picked up three wickets. Chris Woakes and Ben Stokes also bowled pretty well, picking up two wickets each. 4th Innings:
With 277 runs to chase, England started well but lost the wicket of Rory Burns for ten runs. But Dominic Sibley 36 runs and Joe Root 42 runs batted well adding 64 runs to the 2nd wicket, but they both got out in quick sessions. Later Ben Stokes 9 runs, and Ollie Pope 7 runs also fell cheaply, and England was 117 runs for 5 wickets and looked in deep trouble.
Jos Butler 75 runs, and Chris Woakes 84* runs batted exceptionally well and helped England win the match by 3 wickets with a day remaining. Yasir Shah bowled brilliantly again, picking up 4 wickets. Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Abbas, and Nasees Shah managed to pick up 1 wicket each.
