SIX vs STA Dream11 Team Prediction & Preview: 45th Match, BBL 2019-20

Sydney Sixers will take on Melbourne Stars in the 45th match of Big Bash League 2019-20 at Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney. We will provide SIX vs STA Dream11 Prediction, Match Preview, and Probable Playing XI of the game.

In the last encounter between these two teams in this season, Melbourne Stars won the match by 44 runs.

Sydney Sixers:

Sydney Sixers are having a good time as they are currently at 3rd position on the points table with six wins and four losses and a total of 13 points.

In the last match, batting first Sixers did not look in good form and performed very poorly. They lost the wicket of Daniel Hughes in the 1st over for a duck, and in the very next over they lost the wicket of Josh Philippe for just one run. After 1.5 overs rain interrupted the play and match was reduced to 18 overs per side, but there was no improvement in the performance of Sixers, and they lost six wickets for just 26 runs in 8 overs and were in deep trouble. Then Justin Avendano 28 runs and Ben Dwarsuis 19 runs tried to steady the innings, but it was quite late, and after their dismissals, they got all out for just 76 runs in 15.5 overs.

With 76 runs to defend, it was an impossible task for the bowlers. But they started well and picked up one wicket in the 1st over and put pressure on the opposition. Sixers did not allow the batsmen to score freely and picked up another wicket in 4th over. The opposition was 28 runs for two wickets after 5.3 overs, and it started to rain again, and there was no chance to resume the match. Five overs were completed so as per the DLS rules the opposition were four runs ahead of the Sixers and thus they had to face a defeat by four runs. Jackson Bird and Tom Curran picked up one wicket each.

They would be hoping to win the next match against the Melbourne Stars and get back to the No.2 spot on the points table.

Melbourne Stars:

Stars are having a great time this season as they are currently at the 1st position on the points table with ten wins and one loss and a total of 20 points and they have qualified for the playoffs.

In the last match, batting first Stars lost the big wicket of Marcus Stoinis for six runs in the 2nd over and lost the wicket of Nathan Coulter-Nile for seven runs in the 5th over. They managed to score only 29 runs in the power play for the loss of 2 wickets. They lost another wicket in the 8th over and were 41 runs for three wickets after eight overs. But Hilton Cartwright 58 runs and Glenn Maxwell 25 runs batted sensibly and helped to steady the innings in the middle overs. Later Nick Larkin’s 24 runs helped Stars post a decent total of 141 runs after 26 overs.

With 141 runs to defend, Stars bowled brilliantly with tight line and lengths. They managed to pick up one wicket in the power play but gave away 41 runs. They managed to pick up one wicket in the 7th over, but they were giving away runs. In the 10th over they got the wicket of Mitchell Marsh by a brilliant run out and the game changed for Stars from there on, they bowled very well and did not allow the opposition to score quickly, and it forced them to play big shots, and Stars picked up five wickets for 33 runs in the end and restricted the opposition to a total of 131 runs and won the match by ten runs. Nic Maddinson bowled brilliantly and picked up three wickets for just 24 runs in his four overs. Daniel Worrall, Sandeep Lamichhane, Clint Hinchliffe and Glenn Maxwell picked up one wicket each.

Stars have won 8 matches in a row now and will be hoping to continue their winning streak against the Sydney Sixers.

Pitch Conditions

Average 1st innings score: 156

Average 2nd innings score: 134

This pitch is generally considered to be good for batting and runs can be scored easily on this pitch. But due to rainfall from the past few days, the pitch can play little differently and may favour the bowlers.

There is a high chance of rain on the matchday, which would result in a reduction of the number of overs per side or abandonment of the match.
