Melbourne Stars will take on Sydney Sixers in the Qualifier of Big Bash League 2019-20 at Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne. We will provide STA vs SIX Dream11 Prediction, Match Preview, and Fantasy Cricket Tips.

In the 2 encounters between these two teams in this season, both the teams have won one match each.

Melbourne Stars:

Melbourne Stars played brilliantly and finished on the top of the points table by winning 10 out of the 14 matches and with a total of 20 points. They were the 1st team to qualify for playoffs.

In the last match, bowling first, Stars picked up a wicket in the 2nd over of the innings but then gave away 53 runs in the power play and weren’t able to pick up any wickets. They picked up 3 more wickets in the middle overs, and the opposition were 116 runs for 4 wickets after 15.1 overs. But in the death overs, Stars gave away runs and managed to pick up only one wicket. As a result, opposition posted a total of 186 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. Adam Zampa bowled brilliantly and picked up 3 wickets for 27 runs in his 4 overs. Sandeep Lamichane and Dilbar Hussain picked up 1 wicket each.

With 187 runs to chase, Stars lost the wicket of in-form batsman Marcus Stoinis for 17 runs in the 3rd over and lost another wicket of Seb Gotch in the same over who scored 5 runs. Nick Larkin 22 runs, and Peter Hadscomb 27 runs tried to steady the innings, but after they got out, no other player was able to play big innings, and thus Stars got all out for just 115 runs in 17.4 overs and lost the match by 71 runs.

Sydney Sixers:

Sydney Sixers also had a great time this season as they won 9 out of 14 matches and sealed the 2nd spot on the points table with a total of 19 points.

In the last match, bowling first Sixers picked up 1 wicket in the power play and gave away 54 runs. They bowled exceptionally well in the middle overs and picked up 2 wickets, and the opposition were 88 runs for 3 wickets after 13.1 overs. But after that, they gave away too many runs and managed to pick up only 2 wickets, which resulted in the opposition scoring 175 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. Tom Curran bowled brilliantly, and he picked up 3 wickets for 27 runs in his 4 overs. Steve O’Keefe and Ben Dwarshuis picked up 1 wicket each.

With 176 runs to chase, Sixers started pretty well but lost the wicket of James Vince in the 5th over who had scored 22 runs from 13 balls. Josh Philippe continued the momentum by scoring 61 runs from 42 balls but got out in the 12th over. In the very next over, they lost the wicket of Moises Henriques, who scored just 2 runs. But Steve Smith’s brilliant innings of 66* runs from 40 balls and Daniel Hughes 19* runs from 14 balls ensured a victory for the Sixers by 7 wickets in 18.4 overs.

The Qualifier between Melbourne Stars and Sydney Sixers can be expected to be a thriller because both the teams have some big names on their side. But Stars would be a little low on confidence as they had lost 3 consecutive matches at the end of league stage, but they would want to forget that and focus on winning the qualifier.
