STA vs STR Dream11 Prediction | Player Stats | 40th Match, BBL 2020-21

Hello and welcome to our STA vs STR Dream11 Prediction, Probable Playing XI, and Fantasy Cricket Tips. Melbourne Stars and Adelaide Strikers will play against each other in the 40th match of the Big Bash League 2020-21 at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne.

Melbourne Stars:

They are having a very tough time after a perfect start to the tournament as they have won only 3 out of the 9 matches, and one match was abandoned due to rain.

Melbourne Stars are now at the 7th position on the points table with a total of 16 points. They had to face disappointment once again as they lost their last match by 5 wickets.

Opening batsman Andre Fletcher has not been able to perform and looked completely out of form this season, but his partner Stoinis has been batting well and providing a good start in every match. In the last match, he scored 47 runs. At No.3, Nick Larkin looked very slow in his batting approach.

Skipper Maxwell, who has been the most consistent player on the team, got out for a duck in the last two matches. Cartwright also did not score much and has appeared to be struggling so far in this season. Maddinson batted very well in the last match but just missed his fifty by 2 runs.

Adam Zampa has been the most consistent wicket-taker of the team, and Billy Stanlake has seemed to be getting better with every game. Sam Rainbird, Glenn Maxwell, and Haris Rauf managed to pick up a wicket in the last match.

Stars have been struggling a lot to win matches this season. They have outstanding players on the side, but they have not been able to perform at the right time. Stars still have a perfect chance of qualifying for playoffs if they start winning the remaining matches.

Adelaide Strikers:

Strikers have managed to win five matches out of the ten so far and are currently at the 5th position on the points table with 20 points. They performed well and won the last match by 5 wickets.

Opener Phil Salt has been performing decently so far this season, but Matt Renshaw, except for one match, has not appeared to be in good form. Alex Carey has been doing an excellent job by providing stability to the team at No.3.

Jake Weatherald has been batting brilliantly at his new batting position in the middle-order, and Jon Wells has played a couple of good innings. Still, he has appeared to be scoring runs at a slower rate than previous seasons. Ryan Gibbson also batted very well in the last match scoring 22* runs and took the team to victory.

After a few bad performances, the Strikers’ bowlers bowled well in the last match by restricting the flow of runs and picking up wickets. Wes Agar and Rashid Khan have been the team’s consistent wicket-takers and are among the top five wicket-takers this season. Daniel Worrall picked up 2 wickets, and Harry Conway managed to pick up 1 wicket in the last match.

Strikers need to perform well in both batting and bowling departments consistently. On the whole, they need to put up a good team performance as they did in the last match, and if they do so, they can easily qualify for playoffs.
