WI vs SL Dream11 Prediction | 1st ODI | Sri Lanka tour of West Indies, 2021

Hello and welcome to our WI vs SL Dream11 Prediction, Probable Playing XI, and Fantasy Cricket Tips. West Indies and Sri Lanka will play against each other in the 1st ODI at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua.

West Indies:

The last time West Indies played an ODI was against Bangladesh and they lost very badly as they were whitewashed 3-0. But this time they would be more confident as they have won the T20I series by 2-1 and would want to repeat the same thing in the ODI series.

One of the top all-rounders Kieron Pollard will be leading the side and he looked in good touch in the recent T20I series. The opening pair looks solid as Evin Lewis plays tends to play aggressively while Shai Hope takes time to settle in and is good at rotating strike.

In the middle-order, Darren Bravo, Nicholas Pooran, and Kyle Mayers are very good strikers of the ball and keep the score ticking in the middle overs. Kieron Pollard, Fabian Allen, and Jason Holder can play big shots down the order and score some quick runs in the death overs.

The bowling unit is a mixture of young and experienced players. Alzarri Joseph and Jason Holder will be the key fast bowlers on the team and they will be supported by Romario Shepherd and Kieron Pollard. The spin department will be handled by Fabian Allen and Akeal Hossain.

The recent record for West Indies in the ODI format has not been that good and they would like to improve it by winning this series.

Sri Lanka:

The Lankans played well in the T20I series but had to face disappointment as they lost by 2-1. Sri Lanka played its last ODI almost a year ago and it was against the same opponent West Indies and SL won the series comfortably by 3-0 and would be hoping to repeat the same performances in this series.

Skipper Dimuth Karunaratne will be opening the innings along with Danushka Gunthalika and they have been opening for Sri Lanka for some time now. Niroshan Dickwella might get a chance to bat at No.3

Oshada Fernando, Dinesh Chandimal, and Angelo Mathews form the strong core of the team and such experience will add balance to the team’s batting lineup. In the end, Thisara Perera and Wanindu Hasaranga can play some big shots and help the team to chase or post a big total.

They have got a very good bowling attack in the form of experienced players like Nuwan Pradeep and Suranga Lakmal who can pick up some early wickets and put pressure on the opposition. They have also got another good pacer in the form of Thisara Perera.

Akila Dananjaya and Wanindu Hasaranga are also some very good spinners and consistently pick up wickets. Sri Lanka would want to forget about the T20I series loss and focus on winning the ODI series.
