Tinashe Kamunhukamwe and Tarisai Musakanda opened the innings for Zimbabwe and gave a decent start. Tinashe was unlucky as he missed a well-deserved fifty by just six runs.

The most experienced players in the squad, skipper Williams and Raza, batted decently but were not good enough to take their team to victory. There was a hope that Wesley Madhevere might fight till the end, but he too got out early, and the remaining batsman also didn’t score much.

The bowlers well completely out of rhythm as they conceded a lot of runs and managed to pick up wickets only in the death overs. Richard Ngarava and Blessing Muzarabani managed to pick up wickets, but they, too, considered a good amount of runs.

It won’t be easy for Zimbabwe, even in the second T20I. They need to be at their very best to beat Afganisthan and make a comeback in this series.
