Lahore Qalandars:

Lahore Qalandars have continued their bad performance from the past seasons and have lost 2 out of the 2 matches and are currently at the bottom of the points table.

In the last match, batting first Qalandars lost the wicket of Chris Lynn for just 11 runs in the 3rd over. After that Fakhar Zaman batted really well and scored 33 runs and in the end Samit Patel 10 runs from 9 balls and David Wiese 19 runs from 9 balls quick innings helped Lahore Qalandars but the star of the innings was Mohammed Hafeez who batted brilliantly by scoring 98* runs from 57 balls and helped the team post a total of 182 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 6 wickets.

With 182 runs to defend, Qalandars started off pretty well by picking up 2 wickets in the 1st and 2nd overs but still, they gave away 51 runs in the power play. They gave away runs in the middle overs but at the same time they were picking up wickets in the regular intervals and the opposition were 138 runs for 7 wickets after 15 overs and it looked like Qalandars would win this match easily but Usman Shinwari bowled very badly and as a result, they lost the match by 1 wicket. Shaheen Afridi bowled exceptionally well by picking up 4 wickets for just 18 runs in his 4 overs. Haris Rauf picked up 2 wickets, David Weise, Samit Patel and Mohammed Hafeez picked up 1 wicket each.

Lahore Qalandars would be hoping to win this match against Peshawar Zalmi and open their account on the points table.

Peshawar Zalmi:

Peshawar Zalmi is also having a tough time this season as they are currently at the 5th position on the points table with 1 win and 2 losses and a total of 2 points.

In the last match, batting first Zalmi lost the wicket of Tom Banton for just 4 runs in the 1st over and in the 4th over they lost the wicket of in-form batsman Kamran Akmal for just 15 runs. They lost 2 big wickets of Shoaib Malik and Livingstone for 2 and 0 runs in the 5th over and we’re in deep trouble. Haider Ali 47 runs from 27 balls and Liam Dawson 22 runs from 23 balls tried to stabilize the innings but they too got out and Zalmi fell like a pack of cards for just 123 runs in 18.3 overs.

With just 123 runs to defend, Zalmi picked up 2 wickets in 2 overs and were strongly back into the match. They picked up one more wicket in the 5th over but gave away 47 runs in the power play. On the very next ball of power-play they picked up the 4th wicket and it looked like it was going to be a thrilling contest but the opposition batted really and Zalmi had to face the loss by 6 wickets and the opposition chased down the target just in 14.5 overs. Wahab Riaz picked up 2 wickets, Hasan Ali and Rahat Ali picked up 1 wicket each.

Peshawar Zalmi would want to win this match against Lahore Qalandars and move up the points table.
