Most number of Ducks in IPL: All players want to be a part of a records list,but some are unwanted records.The records where players wish to not make their appearance. One of that unwanted record lists is The Number of Ducks. The term ‘duck’ in cricket refers to a batter getting dismissed without scoring a single run in their inning.

1. Rohit Sharma (16 ducks)

Current Indian Test and ODI captain, 5-time IPL winning Captain and one of the most successful batters of IPl history also holds the record of most ducks. On 6th May 2023 against Chennai Super Kings at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, Rohit registered his 16th duck of the IPL. Rohit Sharma played for two IPL teams Deccan Chargers and Mumbai Indians. Rohit Sharma scored 6070 runs in 233 innings of 238 IPL matches. Indian captain top the unwanted record list of IPL.

 2. Dinesh Karthik (15 ducks)

Dinesh Karthik is one of the few players who played in the inaugural Ipl season of 2008 and still playing. Karthik played for Delhi Daredevils, Gujarat Lions, Kings XI Punjab, Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Karthik holds the record for joint second-most ducks scored by a player in IPL history. In 240 matches, 218 innings Dinesh Karthik scored 15 Ducks. One of the greatest finishers of IPl history, former Captain of the IPl team and a brilliant commentator DK registered his name in this unwanted record of IPL.

3. Mandeep Singh (15 ducks)

Two current Kolkata Knight Riders players were also named in second-highest ducks in IPL. Mandeep Singh is a current KKR player and also represented Delhi Capitals, Kings XI Punjab, Punjab Kings, and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Mandeep scored 15 ducks in his 98 innings. Another player from Kolkata Knight Riders, mystery spinner Sunil Narine also joined this list at the top. Narine registered 15 ducks in his 94 innings of 158 IPL match appearances.

4. Ambati Rayudu (14 ducks)

Ambati Rayudu and Glenn Maxwell scored 14 ducks, the third most number of ducks in IPL history. A duck against Rajasthan Royal on 27th April; 2023 was the 14th duck of Ambati Rayudu.

One of the most underrated players of IPL Ambati Rayudu has been part of  Mumbai Indians and now Chennai Super Kings player. Rayudu won 3 IPL titles with Mumbai Indians and two with Chennai Super Kings.

5. Glenn Maxwell (14 ducks)

Australian power-hitter Glenn Maxwell also added his name to this list, Maxwell gets out on ducks 14 times in his 117 IPL innings.

6. Piyush Chawla and Harbhajan Singh (13 ducks)

Piyush Chawla and Harbhajan Singh, two great spinners of India and part of the ODI World Cup winning team also scored 13 ducks in IPL. Piyush Chawla has a phenomenal record in bowling, taking 174 wickets in 176 matches. Harbhajan Singh dismissed batters 150 times in 163 matches.

7. Manish Pandey (13 ducks)

The first Indian batter who scored IPL hundred Manish Pandey makes his appearance in this list by scoring 13 ducks. 

8. Ajinkya Rahane (13 ducks)

Former captain of Rajasthan Royals and current Chennai Super Kings player Ajinkya Rahane made 13 ducks in his 155 IPL innings.

9. Parthiv Patel (13 ducks)

Former Indian player and current commentator Parthiv Patel still has his name in this list. A wicketkeeper batter get’s 13duks in his 139 innings.

10. Gautam Gambhir (12 ducks)

2 Time IPL-winning captain Gautam Gambhir also made 12 ducks in his ipl career. Gambhir made a hat-trick of ducks in the 2014 IPL season.

Afghanistan captain and Gujarat Titans vice-captain Rashid Khan joined this list by scoring 12 ducks in 47 innings.
