Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a batter cricket player who got selected in the IPL at the age of just 13, was born on 26 November 2024 in Samastipur district of Bihar. And he first came into the media headlines when Rajasthan Royals included him in their team by paying a huge amount of Rs 1 crore 10 lakh in IPL Mega Auction 2025.

Suryavanshi’s father is Sanjiv Suryavanshi, a farmer from Motipur village near Samastipur in Bihar, India. Sanjiv played a pivotal role in nurturing Vaibhav’s cricketing aspirations. In 2021, he sold his farmland to finance his son’s training and development in cricket.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi Cricket Career

If we talk about Vaibhav’s cricket career, he started playing domestic cricket at the tender age of 5 and began his initial cricket practice at the Patel Ground training camp in Samastipur under the guidance of Brajesh Jha. At the age of 8, he performed exceptionally well in the Under-16 district trials.

Later, at the age of 10, he received training in Patna and participated in numerous series. At the young age of 12 and a half, he played Ranji Trophy for Bihar.

After making his first-class debut for Bihar in January 2024, Suryavanshi caught everyone’s attention with a brilliant century during the India U19 vs. Australia U19 Youth Test series in September. Suryavanshi is fully prepared to represent India in the upcoming Under-19 Asia Cup. Recently, a two-match unofficial Test series was played between the Under-19 teams of India and Australia, where the Bihar prodigy smashed a century in just 58 balls.

Domestic Cricket Career & debut

In January 05 – 08, 2024, He made his first-class debut for Bihar in the Ranji Trophy at the tender age of 12. This feat made him the youngest player ever to play first-class cricket in India. Later in 2024, he also made his List A debut on December 21, 2024 in the match of Bihar vs M. Pradesh at Hyderabad. And bcame the youngest Indian to play List A cricket, debuting in the Vijay Hazare Trophy at 13 years and 269 days.

In the same year of 2024, He also made his T20s debut on November 23, 2024 in the match of Rajasthan vs Bihar at Saurashtra. And he has got a chance to play only two T20s matches so far, In which he scored 47 runs.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi IPL Team & Career

In the 2025 IPL auction, at just 13 years old, Vaibhav was signed by the Rajasthan Royals for ₹1.1 crore, making him the youngest player ever to receive an IPL contract.

And On April 19, 2025, Vaibhav debuted for the Rajasthan Royals against the Lucknow Super Giants at the age of 14 years and 23 days, becoming the youngest player to participate in an IPL match.

And after that, on April 28, 2025, while playing against the Gujarat Titans team, he scored the fastest century in IPL history in just 35 balls, becoming the first Indian player to do so.
