Born on 02 Oct 2001, in Kabul, Afghanistan, his full name is Mohammad Waqar Salamkheil. And he has made significant contributions to Afghan cricket and has become a prominent name in the cricket.
And He made his International cricket debut for the Afghanistan team in March 2019 with Test formats of cricket. Till now, he has got a chance to play only debut matches so far.
Waqar Salamkheil Domestic Career
If we talking about his domestic career, then He made his first-class debut on 19 November 2017 in the 2017–18 Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-day Tournament, Salamkheil finished the Ahmad Shah Abdali Tournament as the leading wicket-taker, with a total of 55 wickets. And he has got a chance to play only 12 First-class matches so far, In which he has taken 74 wickets with his bowl.
List A debut
After that, He made his List A debut on 10 September 2019 in the 2019 Ghazi Amanullah Khan Regional List A Tournament. In Sep 2020, he was the joint-leading wicket-taker in the 2020 Shpageeza Cricket League.
T20s debut
He made his T20s debut on 6 October 2018 for Kandahar Knights in the 2018–19 Afghanistan Premier League. and he has got a chance to play only 32 T20s matches so far, In which he has taken 47 wickets with his bowl.
Waqar Salamkheil International Career
After showing his impressive performances in the domestic circuit, he made his Test International debut for Afghanistan on 15 March 2019 against Ireland at at Dehradun. And in March 2021, the Afghanistan Cricket Board confirmed that he was pending selection for the Twenty20 International (T20I) matches against Zimbabwe, But he has not got a chance to made his T20 International debut due some visa issues.
And he has played only debut ODI match so far, in which he took 4 wickets with his bowl.
