WPL Winner 2023: Mumbai Indians have won the title of the first season of the Women’s Premier League. Mumbai beat Delhi Capitals by seven wickets in the final match, Nat Sciver-Brunt played an important role in the title win of Mumbai Indians, who scored an unbeaten 60 runs in the final match.

The women’s Premier League (WPL 2023) has got its first champion. Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Capitals in a thrilling final on Sunday night. Delhi won the toss and scored 131 runs batting first. In response, in front of the local crowd, Mumbai women achieved success in this run chase with the very first ball. The 19th over proved to be the turning point for the match. 21 runs were needed in the last two overs. But Natalie Siever Brunt scored 16 runs against spinner Johnson thrashed her fiercely. From here easily scored five runs in the last over and won the championship. Natalie Sciver Brunt scored an unbeaten half-century in Mumbai’s win.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, the Delhi Capitals got off to a solid start, with openers Meg Lanning and Shafali Verma putting up a 46-run, and then first dismissed of Shafali by Melie Kerr for 11. However, Dhawan continued to play a brilliant knock, scored 35 runs with the help of five fours.
In response, the Mumbai Indians Women’s team got off to a shaky start, losing their top two batsmen – Yastika Bhatia (wk), and Hayley Matthews – within the powerplay overs. However, Allrounder Nat Sciver-Brunt and Captain Harmanpreet Kaur (c) steadied the ship with a crucial partnership of 97 runs, before Harmanpreet was dismissed run out by Shikha Pandey.
With the Mumbai Indians, 21 runs were needed in the last two overs. But Natalie Siever Brunt scored 16 runs against spinner Johnson thrashed her fiercely. Earlier, a 52-run partnership for the 10th wicket between Shikha Pandey (27 not out in 17 balls) and Radha Yadav (27 not out in 12 balls) helped Delhi reach 131 for nine. Delhi Capitals had a great start and their score was 74 for three in the 11th over, after which six wickets fell within five runs and the score was 79 for nine after the 16th over. Mumbai’s overseas bowlers starred, with Healy Mathews taking three wickets for just five runs in four overs, Isabelle Wong taking three for 42 and Amelia Kerr two for 18.
