Amelia started playing cricket at a young age, And at the age of 14, she made her debut in first-class cricket for Wellington.

Amelia made her debut in international cricket for New Zealand against Pakistan in November 2016, playing both One Day Internationals (ODIs) and Twenty20 (T20) matches. In June 2018, she made history against Ireland in an ODI match by achieving the highest individual score in women’s ODIs, scoring an unbeaten 232 runs. She became the youngest cricketer to score a double century in One Day International cricket. In the same match, she also took 5 wickets for 17 runs.
Amelia Kerr is a key member of the New Zealand women’s cricket team and has delivered many memorable performances. And she made her WPL debut on 06 March 2023 while playing against Royal Challengers Bangalore Women, in which she has taken 2 wickets and also scored 45 runs with her bat.
After this, She has been again signed by the Mumbai Indians team for the 2024 season.
