Growing up in Auckland, Muhammad showcased his talent by scoring his first century at the age of 11.
Domestic Career
In December 2022, the Abbas family relocated to Wellington, where Muhammad joined Karori Cricket Club. He made his first-class debut for Wellington against Otago on February 25, 2023. His impressive performances led to a domestic contract with Wellington in July 2023 and selection for New Zealand A in a series against Australia A in August 2023.
In the same year, He also made his List A debut on 07 December 2023 against Canterbury at Wellington. And made his T20s debut on 21 December 2023 against Otago at Wellington.
International Career
Muhammad’s consistent domestic performances earned him a spot in New Zealand’s ODI squad. He made his international debut against Pakistan on March 29, 2025, setting a world record for the fastest 50 on debut in an ODI, scoring 52 runs off 26 balls before being caught on the boundary off the last ball of the match.
