Nonkululeko Mlaba Biography (Wiki)

Nonkululeko Mlaba was born on 27 June 2000, in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. She began playing cricket at the age of 13. She was a consistent performer at the CSA National U-19 Girls tournaments starting at age 16. A notable early achievement was taking a five-wicket haul in Bloemfontein at the CSA National Women’s week in March 2018, which led to her selection for the National Academy. In late 2018, she was selected for the South Africa School Side Tournaments.

Early Life & Career

At around age 16, Mlaba was performing well in the CSA National U19 Girls’ tournaments. Her performances there, including a five-wicket haul in Bloemfontein in 2018, helped her get noticed. She also played for the South Africa Schools side in late 2018. After completing her matric (final year of high school) in 2019, she was enrolled in the Cricket South Africa Academy. This was a turning point in her development.
