Kusal Mendis: The home side of the ongoing red ball series between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, Sri Lanka is dominating the second Test match at R Premadasa Stadium in Colimbo. The visitors, Bangladesh were bundled out for just 247 runs in their first innings of the 2nd Test match.
The new red ball format cricle of the World Test Championship had began with this current and ongoing two match Test series between the hosts, Sri Lanka and the visitors, Bangladesh. The first match of this two match red ball series which was played at Galle International Stadium in Galle was ended in a draw.
Bangladesh played well in that entire match. The Bangla Tigers are also scheduled to play a three match series of the One Day International form of the game. That fifty over series will start from Wednesday, 2nd July 2025. The first two ODIs will be played at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo while the last match of this series will be played at Pallekele.
Bangladesh tour of Sri Lanka in 2025 is a full fleshed one. After the series of the red ball form of the game and the fifty overs format, SL Vs BAN will also compete in three match seris of the shortest form of the game. This three match T20I series is equally important as Tests and ODI series because of the T20 World Cup in 2026 and Sri Lanka is the co host of that ICC event.
The first T20 International match of the three match T20I series will be played on Thrusday, 10th July 2025 at Pallekele International Stadium. The 2nd T20Is will be played at Dambula and the last match of this series of the shortest form of the game will be played at the national capital of Sri Lanka, Colombo.

Sri Lanka is miles ahead of the visitors Bangladesh in the second and the last red ball match of this two match series. After bundling the Bangla Tigers out for just 247 in the 1st innings, the Lankan batters piled up 458 runs in their first innings of the second red ball match in Colombo.
Pathum Nissanka, the opening batter of the Sri Lankan team smashed 158 runs in the first innings. The senior pro of the home side, Sri Lanka, Dinesh Chandimal also slammed crucial 93 runs while Kusal Mendis hit sparkling 84 runs to take the home team to a good position.

During Kusal Mendis’s 84 run knock, the Sri Lankan wicketkeeper batter scored just 32nd cenrtury in international cricket arena and he also scored his 22nd half century in the red ball form of the game. Mendis had put Romesh Kaluwitharana behind in this regard. Romesh had 31 half centuries to his name while Kusal Mendis has 32 fifties in international cricket, which is the second most for Sri Lanka in the international cricket.
Mendis has scored 4,757 runs in the red ball matches for Sri Lanka with 22 half centuries to his name and against the Bangla Tigers, Mendis has scored 841 runs with two centuries and four half centuries in ten Test matches. Kusal has an average of 52.56 in the Test matches against them.
