Longest Six In IPL: IPL has witnessed some of the most destructive players from across the cricketing world showcase their powerful potency with the bat since the tournament was introduced in 2008. These players have smashed some big sixes in the history of the league. This post discusses the longest sixes in the history of IPL.

The players mentioned in the list possessed different skill sets as far as their hitting abilities, timing, placement and power to clear the boundary rope are concerned but their ability to smash the ball a long way is no different. 1. Albie Morkel (125 meters, CSK vs Deccan,2008 )

The former South African all-rounder smashed Pragyan Ojha over deep midwicket 125 meters long at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad when Chennai Super Kings faced Deccan Chargers in 2008. The former India left-arm off-spinner bowled at the pads that was hit a long way.

2. Praveen Kumar (124 meters, PBKS vs MI,2013)

Former India pacer Praveen Kumar hit former India all-rounder Yusuf Pathan for a big one over long on while playing for Punjab Kings in 2013 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore against Mumbai Indians.

3. Adam Gilchrist (122 meters, PBKS vs RCB, 2011)

Former Australia wicketkeeper batter smashed former South Africa pacer Charl Langeveldt over mid-wicket that went a long way at 122 meters while playing for Kings XI Punjab at Dharamshala’s Himachal Pradesh Cricket Stadium against Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2011.

4. Robin Uthappa ( 120 meters, RCB vs MI, 2008)

The former India batter smashed Dwayne Bravo for a big 120-meter-long hit that went into the crowd while playing for RCB against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumba in 2008i.

5. Chris Gayle (119 meters, RCB vs RPS, 2013)

The former West Indian opener cracked a big six over long-on off the left-arm off-spinner Ali Murtuza that went 119 meters while playing for RCB at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium Bangalore against Rising Pune Supergiants.

6. Yuvraj Singh (119 meters, KXI Punjab vs CSK, 2009)

The former India all-rounder and dashing left-hander smashed former South Africa pacer Makhaya Ntini with a big six that travelled 119 meters during the 2009 season that was played in South Africa while playing for KXI Punjab against Chennai Super Kings.

7. Ross Taylor (119 meters, RCB vs CSK, 2008)

The former New Zealand batter smashed Jacob Oram over deep mid-wicket that travelled 119 meters while representing Royal Challengers Bangalore against Chennai Super Kings while playing at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore in 2008.

8. Ben Cutting (117 meters, SRH vs RCB, 2016)

Cutting smashed Shane Watson for a big 117 meters six during the final of the 2016 IPL while playing for RCB against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

9. Gautam Gambhir (117 meters, KKR vs RR, 2013)

The former India opener, current team India coach and former Kolkata Knight Riders captain cracked a big one over deep square leg off the bowling of S Sreesanth while playing for Kolkata Knight Riders during the 2013 IPL season against Rajasthan Royals at Jaipur.

10. Liam Livingstone, (117 meters, PBKS vs GT, 2022)

During the 2022 IPL season, England all-rounder Liam Livingstone smashed Mohammed Shami over deep square leg that went 117 meters long while playing for Punjab Kings against Gujarat Titans at the Dr D.Y. Patil Stadium in Mumbai.
