Alex Carey BBL and Domestic Career

Alex Carey started his career as a specialist top-order batsman in grade cricket but he couldn’t continue his form. He still managed to get a contract from South Australia in 2013-2014, where he developed his wicketkeeping skill and also moved down the order as a batsman. This helped him in getting more opportunities to be a part of the playing XI and become a better batsman.

In 2015-2016, Carey performed brilliantly in the grade cricket and this got him a call-up for Sheffield Shield. He later got his first senior contract for South Australia in the 2016-2017 season.

Alex Carey made his BBL debut for Adelaide Strikers on 18th January 2017 against Sydney Thunder. He batted at No.7 in the debut game but did not get enough balls to play and played only one game in that season. In the very next season, he smashed 443 runs which included a century and two fifties.
