Ashok Dinda joins BJP and will fight election from Moyna Constituency

Former Indian Cricketer Ashok Dinda joined the Bhartiya Janta Party on 24th February Wednesday. Dinda was formally inducted into the party in the presence of the Union Minister, Mr. Babul Supriyo, and state BJP vice president Mr. Arjun Singh at a public meeting in Kolkata.

Recently, On 3rd February, Ashok Dinda announced his retirement from all formats of the game.

Dinda has represented the country in 13 ODIs and nine T20Is, picking up 12 and 17 wickets respectively. Dinda has also played 78 IPL games for 5 different teams and has picked up 69 wickets.

Ashok Dinda’s inclusion in the party comes ahead of the Assembly elections for Legislative Assembly of the State that consists of 294 seats set to be held this year. Ashok Dinda will fight the election from the Moyna constituency in East Midnapore.

Earlier in the day, his Bengal teammate Manoj Tiwary had joined Trinamool Congress in the presence of the State Chief minister Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata.
