2007 – India
The first-ever edition of the T20 World Cup was won by India. This was India’s first-ever win in an ICC event after the historic 1983 World Cup Win. MS Dhoni’s Captaincy era started from here. India beat Pakistan in the final and the win is regarded as one of the greatest wins in Indian Cricket.

2009 – Pakistan
After ending up as the runners-up in the 2007 World Cup, Pakistan was the World Champions in the next edition of the World Cup. The tournament was hosted by England and Pakistan completely dominated the competition. They beat Sri Lanka by 8 wickets in the final to become the World Champions.

2010 – England
The third edition of the T20 World Cup saw England winning their maiden title. England also became the first non-Asian team to lift the World Cup. They beat their favorite rivals Australia in the finals by 7 wickets. Kevin Pietersen was their top scorer throughout the tournament.

2012 – West Indies
West Indies won their maiden title in 2012 and were one of the strongest T20 sides in the early 2010s. The tournament was hosted by Sri Lanka. West Indies beat the hosts by 36 runs in the finals and won their first-ever title in the T20 World Cup.

2014 – Sri Lanka
This edition of the World Cup will always be remembered as a heartbreak for Indian fans. The tournament was hosted by Bangladesh. Sri Lanka beat India in the finals by 6 wickets and won the competition. It was India’s second final in the World Cup. The domination of Virat Kohli started from here.

2016 – West Indies
West Indies became the first team on the planet to win the ICC T20 World Cup twice. The tournament was hosted by India. West Indies were at their complete best throughout the competition. They beat England in the finals and won their second title in the T20 World Cup.

ICC T20 World Cup Winners List 2021 – Australia
The T20 World Cup was organized after a long gap of five years due to various reasons. UAE & Oman hosted the 2021 edition of the World Cup due to Covid-19 restrictions. Australia emerged as the World Champions and theirfirst-everr T20 World Cup title. They beat New Zealand by 8 wickets in the finals and became the winners.
