Jordan Christopher Silk is an Australian Domestic Cricketer who is known for his lower middle-order Batting for Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League.
Jordan Silk Domestic Career
After climbing up the ranks in age group and also division cricket, Silk made his first-class debut for Tasmania against Queensland on 7th March 2013.
Opening the innings for the team, Silk scored 25 and 34 runs respectively, and had a decent outing on his debut.
He was brilliant in the whole season and also scored a match-winning century in the final to help Tasmania win the trophy.
Silk had also made his List-A debut prior to his first-class debut in 2012. He made his debut against Western Australia on December 1, 2012, and batted in the lower middle-order.
He did not have a great debut to remember as he was dismissed for just one run but worked over his white ball game over the years.
Silk was later also part of the Australian A side in April 2013 which was to tour England. He also played for Cuckfield Cricket Club in 2016 where he scored 947 runs for Club.
His Career best came against Victoria in 2012-13 where he scored 127 runs. Talking about his numbers, Silk has played 70 FC games so far and has scored 4042 runs at an average of 31.82 and also has 8 hundred to his name.
Silk’s List-A numbers are not bad either. He has scored 1379 runs in his 46 games and has also played 94 T20 games and has scored 1644 runs at an average of 30.44.
Jordan Silk BBL Career
Silk made his Big Bash League debut way back in the 2013-14 Big Bash Season. He looked very impressive and was also awarded the Bradman Young Cricketer of the year by Cricket Australia in 2014.
He has been one of the strongest fielders in the competition over the years and keeps talking fantastic catches.
On January 22, 2015, Silk played one of the best knocks for the Sixers of 69 not out against the Sydney Thunder and also took an outstanding catch on the field.
After spending seven seasons with the franchise, Silk won his first BBL title in the 9th edition of the league and scored 188 runs for the team in that season.
Jordan Silk has scored 1644 runs from his 75 innings, an average of 30, and his highest score being 78. His energy on the field is also unmatchable and has taken 48 catches.
