Domestic Career
Yadav made his first-class debut for his state team Delhi against Maharashtra on November 17, 2017, in the 2016-17 Ranji Trophy. He straight away made his presence felt by scoring a brilliant half-century in the first innings of the match. He also picked up 2 wickets in the match and his all-round performance took Delhi to victory.
Later on, Yadav also represented Delhi in the List A format on February 15, 2018, against Himachal Pradesh at Nadaun. He managed to score just 2 runs with the bat and also went wicketless in the match but would have definitely been a good learning experience for the youngster.
Before his List A debut, Yadav also made his T20 debut for Delhi against Punjab on January 09 in 2018. He impressed with the ball as he finished his spell with the figures of 1/32. He also contributed a bit with the bat as he managed to score 15* out of 10 balls but unfortunately, he was not able to take his team to victory.
So far, Lalit Yadav has played 12 first-class games and has scored a total of 570 runs, and has also picked up 9 wickets with the ball. His List A numbers are also brilliant as he has scored a total of 459 runs in his 19 innings and has also picked up 19 wickets with the ball.
As far as his T20 record is concerned, Yadav has scored 614 runs from his 40 matches played and also has 30 wickets to his name. His impressive numbers in the shortest format also earned him an IPL contract with Delhi Capitals.
Lalit Yadav IPL Career
After his impressive performances in the domestic circuit, Yadav was picked up by the Delhi Capitals ahead of the 2020 IPL Season for his base price of INR 20 lakhs. Yadav did not play any match in the 2020 IPL Season and was retained by the franchise for IPL 2021.
He finally made his debut in the 2021 Season against Rajasthan Royals on 15th April 2021 and played a handy knock 20 runs with the bat. His best performance came against the Kolkata Knight Riders where he bowled brilliantly and ended his spell with the figures of 2/13 in his 3 overs. So far Yadav has played 5 matches and has scored 54 runs in his 3 innings and has also picked up 3 wickets with the ball. His all-around ability on the field has been impressive so far and will surely play a crucial role for the franchise in the coming years.
