Virat Singh Domestic Career

Virat Singh made his debut for his state team Jharkhand in all the formats at the very young age of 16. Singh scored his maiden first-class century against Assam in the 2014-15 Ranji Trophy and showed his worth.

Singh also got the opportunity to play under the Former Indian Skipper, MS Dhoni in the 2016-17 Vijay Hazare Trophy but was not really a great season for the youngster as he managed to score just 50 runs in 6 games. He worked on his game with his coach Rajiv Kumar, Jharkhand Coach.

Singh came into the limelight after an impressive 2019-20 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He was the 8th highest run-scorer in the tournament as he scored 343 runs in 10 games at an average of 57.16. He was the best batsman for his state team Jharkhand.

His impressive performances in the 2019-20 domestic season also earned him an IPL contract with the IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad. Virat Singh is a quality batsman and is one player to look out for in the future.

Virat Singh IPL Career

After his brilliance in the 2019-20 domestic season. Virat Singh attended trial camps of many teams such as Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians, and Rajasthan Royals before the IPL 2020. He was finally picked up by the Sunrisers Hyderabad at the 2020 IPL Auction for a whopping price of INR 1.9 Crores. There was a bidding war between these three teams.

Unfortunately, Singh did not play a single game in the 2020 IPL Season which was played in the UAE. He finally made his debut for his team in the 2021 IPL Season against Mumbai Indians on 17th April 2021. He failed to impress everyone by scoring just 15 runs in his 3 games and was also later dropped from the playing XI. The 2021 Season would have been a great learning curve for the youngster. Singh is surely a player to watch out for in the coming years of the Indian Premier League.
