WI vs AUS 2nd T20I Match Preview

West Indies:

The West Indies are 2-0 up in the series and making a statement to all the other teams out there ahead of the T20 World Cup this year. Finally, their middle-order is back in form and delivered some outstanding performance in the last game.

Batting first, Lendl Simmons batted very well and scored 30 runs in the last game. He got starts in both the games but is yet to convert them into a big score. The Universe boss is yet to join the party but is a world-class player who can score big on his day. Shimron Hetymer batted brilliantly in the last game and scored 61 runs and has cemented his place in the middle-order. DJ Bravo was also promoted up the order by the team in the last game to maintain the right-left combination and scored 47 runs. Andre Russell also did well to finish the innings by scoring 24 runs off 8 balls.

Their bowling department was again very clinical with the ball. They used as many as 8 bowling options in the last game. Sheldon Cottrell was allowed to play in the last game, and he made full use of the chance and picked up 2 wickets. Hayden Walsh continued his good form in the series and picked up 3 wickets in the last game. He has picked up 6 wickets in his 2 games. Andre Russell and Dwayne Bravo also bowled very well and picked up a wicket each. The Windies will look to seal the series in this game.

Australia:

The Aussies need to regroup themselves quickly after losing two back-to-back games in this series. They were brilliant with the ball in the first game but were smashed all around the park in the last game. Mitchell Starc’s form might be a huge concern for the team as he is wicketless so far in this series and proved to be very expensive. Ashton Agar and Mitch Marsh bowled decently in the last game and picked up a wicket each. Hazlewood also picked up a wicket in the last game but was also a bit expensive.

Their middle order again failed badly and was bundled out for just 140 runs. Mitchell Marsh is looking in good touch and has scored two half-centuries so far in this series. The absence of Glenn Maxwell is clearly hurting the team lower down the order but have to manage with whatever resources they have.

The Aussies will look to back their young players going into this series and hope that their middle-order delivers in this game and make a comeback in this series.
